Message Captain

Your Android texts, securely on your iPhone.

Read your Android texts in a dedicated inbox on your iPhone. The first version supports one-way sync, keeps messages out of Apple Messages, and leaves the originals on Android untouched.

Two phones, less switching

Your main device differs from the phone receiving SMS, and you want to switch between them less often.

Keep up with verification codes

Know promptly on your iPhone when a new SMS arrives on Android.

Keep your texts private

Encrypt message bodies and phone numbers on the device, leaving the relay to forward ciphertext only.

Protect the originals

Sync problems must never delete or block the original messages on Android.

01

End-to-end encrypted sync

Messages are encrypted on Android and decrypted on the paired iPhone. The relay and ordinary logs should not see message contents.

02

A separate iPhone inbox

View conversations, unread messages, search and local copies within Message Captain, without writing to Apple Messages.

03

Pairing, revocation and device replacement

Pair using a QR code and a short verification code. Revoke access if a device is lost or replaced.

04

Offline queues and safe retries

Keep a safe retry path when either device is offline, without deleting or blocking original Android messages.

01

Authorize

Grant the required SMS role and permissions on Android.

02

Pair

Connect your own iPhone using a QR code and a short verification code.

03

Encrypt and sync

Android encrypts new messages before sending them through the relay.

04

View locally

The iPhone retrieves, decrypts and displays messages in a separate inbox.

01

No writing to Apple Messages

Synced messages are viewed only in Message Captain's separate inbox.

02

Android to iPhone, for now

The current direction is Android to iPhone. Sending from iPhone back through Android remains a future design.

03

The relay does not read message bodies

Bodies, numbers, verification codes and attachments should be encrypted on Android and decrypted only on the paired iPhone.

Will messages appear in Apple Messages?

No. Synced messages appear only in Message Captain's separate inbox.

Will sync failures affect SMS reception on Android?

No. Original messages remain managed by Android's system SMS database. Bridge failures must not delete or block them.

Can the first version send messages from iPhone through Android?

No. The first version focuses on receiving and viewing Android messages on iPhone. Reverse sending remains a future design.

Will lock-screen notifications show message contents?

By default, notifications show only a generic new-message alert. Contents are decrypted locally and viewed inside the app.
